World Famous Bollywood Star Amir Khan Meets Turkish First Lady Emine Erdoğan
The world-famous Indian Bollywood actor Amir Khan and Emine Erdoğan’s meeting has shaken both countries. Emine Erdoğan, who is the First Lady of Turkey, received Amir Khan at one of the presidential residences in Turkey, Huber Mansion.
According to the official website of Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, the first lady received the actor at the presidential residence at the Huber Mansion in Istanbul. The two met on the last Saturday, which was India’s 74th Independence Day. First Lady Erdogan also tweeted about the meeting on her verified Twitter account.

“I had the great pleasure of meeting @aamir_khan, the world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker, and director, in Istanbul. It was a great happiness to learn that Aamir decided to wrap up the shooting of his latest movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ in different parts of Turkey. I look forward to it!” she wrote.
Khan, 55, briefed Erdogan about the social responsibility projects he is associated with during the meeting. And so, the first lady congratulated him for addressing social issues in his films, as per the statement on the website.

“Mr. Khan stated that he would complete the shooting of his latest film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which he couldn’t complete in India due to COVID-19, in Turkey. He, moreover, invited First Lady Erdogan to the film set,” the press release further read.
An Official Remake of “Forrest Gump”: Laal Singh Chaddha
Producers and Khan have recently postponed the release of “Laal Singh Chaddha” to Christmas 2021. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi. “Laal Singh Chaddha”, by the way, is an official remake of Tom Hanks’ 1994 feature “Forrest Gump”. They previously scheduled movie to hit the theatres on December 25 this year. However, the production of the film still continues, and it is not clear when it will end.

According to Ajit Andhare, Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18 Studios, the team currently focuses on completing the movie. “Secret Superstar” director Advait Chandan is directing the film from a script by actor-writer Atul Kulkarni. Viacom18 backs the project Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions. The film has music by Pritam with Amitabh Bhattacharya credited for the lyrics. Khan was last seen in “Thugs of Hindostan”.

Amir Khan and Emine Erdoğan’s meeting brought about some debates among Indian and Turkish fans. First, many Indian followers criticized this meeting on the ground that tight ties between Pakistan and Turkey. Turkey’s increasing support for Pakistan over the Kashmir issue annoys many Indians. Moreover, many of them also claim that it damages the Indo-Turkish relationship, too.
