Upcoming Turkish TV Series in 2020 After Covid-19 Quarantine

Turkish televisions and fans of Turkish TV series from all around the world are about to revive in the second half of 2020. Upcoming Turkish TV series and dramas are very promising and exciting. After a long silence and restrictions on TV because of COVID-19 conditions, the audience is finally going to come together with their TV shows. And of course, talented Turkish actors and actresses.

So, here is a list of new TV projects and potential Turkish series in the second half of 2020. We wish you joy in advance while watching each of them!

1- Kırmızı Oda (The Red Room)

The series will probably be before the audience in September 2020. The series is going to be adopted from a real story. The production company, on the other hand, is OGM Pictures. By the way, TV 8 is going to broadcast the series.

The story, in the meantime, reveals the real conversations in a red room of a psychiatrist, between client and adviser. The leading roles are not certain yet.

2- Menajerimi Ara (Call My Agent)

The genre of the series is drama and comedy. The exact day of the broadcasting of the series is not certain yet, but Star TV has already aired the first teaser of the series. So, we will be watching the series on TV very soon.

The story of the series, on the other hand, is about a young woman who eagerly wants to work on the television world. However, this world and caprices of celebrities are hard for her to carry on shoulders, as she has quite a naive personality. So, we will watch whether or not she is capable of handling this dangerous world.

3- Bir Annenin Günahı (The Sin of a Mother)

The Sin of a Mother (Bir Annenin Günahı) is another new project, which will be on screens very soon. The series is a remake of A Mother’s Guilt, which became very successful in The Philippines. The story of the series is the drama of a mother who can do anything for her child. Furthermore, she is a mother who tries to stand on her own feet.

Casting still continues. However, Özge Özberk and Mehmet Aslantuğ will probably share the leading roles. And the drama will be broadcasted on Fox TV.

4- İyi Günde Kötü Günde (For Better and Worse)

 

 

The Turkish romantic comedy is another assertive production in 2020. While Turkish private broadcaster Star TV broadcasts the series, the production company is O3 Media. The leading roles belong to Elçin Sangu (as Leyla), Ozan Dolunay (as Sarp) and, Yasemin Kay Allen (as Melisa).

If dreams leading to a dizzying love and marriage are turned upside down by an unexpected move of fate? For Better and Worse series will bring Leyla, Sarp, and Melisa’s knotted relationships to the screen in a fun style.

5- Yeni Hayat (The New Life)

The drama had begun on Kanal D in April 2020. However, following the break out of COVID-19, the producers gave a break to the set of the series. So, The New Life is another series, which will reunite its audience in the second half of 2020.

Everything starts with a job opportunity that confronts Captain Adem, who left the Special Forces. All that Adem has to do is to protect Yasemin, the young wife of Timur, a rich and powerful businessman. However, everything turns upside and down when Adem falls in love with Yasemin.

6- Arıza (Fault)

Arıza (Fault) TV series is going to be on Show TV screens. The production company of the series is O3 Media. Tolga Sarıtaş (as Ali Rıza) and Ayça Ayşin Turan (as Halide) are sharing the leading roles.

7- Kral (King)

The genres of the series are drama and love. There are not many details about the series. We could only learn the leading roles so far, so here they are:

Pınar Deniz, Burak Deniz, Özcan Deniz, Nilperi Şahinkaya, Aliye Uzunatağan, Yıldız Kültür, Ali İpin, Gökhan Mete.

8- Maria ile Mustafa (Maria and Mustafa)

The series is another upcoming Turkish TV series in 2020. It will appear in the genre of love and drama and tell the story of the impossible love of Maria and Mustafa. Maria comes from Colombia to Turkey. Mustafa, on the other hand, is the heir to the famous family of Urgup. So, we will witness the perfection of love between the two.

Maria and Mustafa will be on ATV screens in the following weeks. The production company, on the other hand, is NTC Media.

9- Tövbeler Olsun (Never Again!)

The new comedy of Turkish state-owned television channel TRT has begun to be broadcasted on August 9, on Sunday. At first, the series attracts attention with the talented and master cast. “Never Again” will be on TRT 1 every Sunday at 20:00 with new episodes.

The show depicts the “big change” of a jewelry maker from “stinginess” to “generosity.” Thanks to this change, an interesting chain of events takes place, which makes some people think and laugh more.

The leading roles of the series are Güven Kıraç, İpek Tuzcuoğlu and Erkan Can. Some of other players of the series are Çiçek Dilligil, Merve Erdoğan, Ünal Silver, Batuhan Aydar, Kerem Muslugil, Duru Baykal. Güven Kıraç and Erkan Can, by the way, had acted in another TV comedy “Dudullu Post”.

10- 50 M2

“50 M2” is one of the most exciting projects and upcoming Turkish TV series of the year. The project will be produced by BKM Production. The screenwriter of the series, in the meantime, is one of the most talented and productive writers in Turkey, Burak Aksak. He, as we also shared here before, indited many quality projects such as Leyla ve Mecnun and  Ben De Özledim.

Meanwhile, the project is a Netflix original, however, the broadcasting time is not certain yet. The series will consist of 8 episodes for a season.

The story: The 50M2 is about the journey to find out who “Shadow” (Engin Öztürk) is, a mysterious hitman, famous in the dark realms. Shadow is betrayed by Servet, whom he sees as his father. While escaping, he finds himself in a 50 square meter tailor shop in a neighborhood he never knew. The residents of the neighborhood see Shadow, who took shelter there until it calmed down. And they think he is the son of the newly deceased tailor shop owner. This new identity based on lies will reveal secrets about Shadow’s past and identity. As he gets used to the neighborhood and the people there, Shadow will transform into a new person and begin to understand who he really is.

Casting: Engin Öztürk, Aybüke Pusat, Cengiz Bozkurt, Tolga Tekin, Yiğit Kirazcı, Özgür Emre Yıldırım, Tuncay Beyazıt, Tuğçe Karabacak, Hasan Yalnızoğlu, Murat Kılıç.
