TRT-1, the Turkish State Broadcaster, is before the audience with a new absurd comedy series. The highly anticipated new comedy series of TRT 1, Tutunamayanlar – The Disconnected, started on Tuesday evening, 7 January at 20.00.

The first episode of TRT’s absurd comedy series Tutunamayanlar (“The Disconnected”), has a talented casting. The directors of the series are Osman Nail Doğan and Murad Zaloğlu. And the young talents Doğu Demirkol and Ece Çeşmioğlu are sharing the leading roles. So, it seems that the series will set a throne in the hearts of the audience with their interesting stories and funny scenes.

The place, where the series was filmed, is Beykoz. The neighbourhood, in the meantime, is the lovely one in the heart of Istanbul. On the other hand, the Turkish absurd comedy series has already gained great success with the first two episodes. Therefore, the 3rd episode, which will be on the screen tomorrow evening, is a matter of curiosity.

What Awaits the Audience in the First Episode of Tutunamayanlar Turkish TV Series?

Tarık (Doğu Demirkol), the leading role of the series, is the disconnected one of the neighbourhood. He has never worked in his entire life and moreover, he doesn’t like to do so.

Lütfü (Barış Yıldız), on the other side, another disconnected character of the series, is a poet. However, he has been seeking for his inspiration, because he hasn’t been able to flourish the literature world with his works so far.

İlhan (Zafer Algöz) is a conservative and bigoted Eroto (source of inspiration) who lives in the neighbourhood.

All the while, the duo meets their conservative and bigoted Eroto (source of inspiration) who lives in the neighbourhood. So, this absurd and surreal encounter stuns the audience with a flood of laughter. And the love, of course, that begins between Tarık and İrem (Ece Çeşmioğlu), causes very emotional moments while watching the series.

The Shorter the Better: 60-Minutes-Episodes in Tutunamayanlar Turkish Comedy

Each episode of the Tutunamayanlar (The Disconnected) will meet the audience as 60-minutes-episodes. Thus, the Turkish absurd comedy aims to carry out hope for “60-minutes-projects” in Turkey, as well as its funny and hilarious elements.

There are plenty of talented and master players taking place in the series as well as Zafer Algöz, who acted as the Erato. Some of the other players of the series are Şinasi Yurtsever, Asuman Dabak, Bora Akkaş, Hande Katipoğlu, Yeliz Kuvancı, Dilek Çelebi ve Uğur Serhan.

What is the Story of Tutunamayanlar – The Disconnected Turkish Absurd Comedy

Tarık (Doğu Demirkol), who has never worked and has no intention to work during his life. However, one day he falls in love with İrem (Ece Çeşmioğlu), who comes from a very wealthy family. Nevertheless, she loses everything because of his father’s wrong attempts. İrem now has no place to go and so, she arrives at the neighbourhood to where Tarık invited. Later on, she starts to work in the book cafe in the neighbourhood. The dream of İrem is to be successful, start her own business and return to her old brighten days one day.

On the other hand, Tarık, who sees that the way of influencing İrem is to establish a business. Accidentally, he someday meets the Erato, who is a conservative and visionless one. And with the ideas of the Erato, all of them are thrown into entertaining business ventures, which will all fail.

Some of the Other Main Characters of Tutunamayanlar (The Disconnected)

Ayşe (Yeliz Kuvancı) is the older sister of Tarık. She studied psychology, but she has never been able to manage to find a proper job. Then she thought to make master, but she couldn’t succeed it, either. Finally, she had to be a keeper for the child of the wealthy woman of the neighbourhood, Belgin (Hande Katipoğlu).

Hicabi (Şinasi Yurtsever) is a 50-year-old professor of the neighbourhood who opened a university in a three-storey apartment in the neighbourhood. And he became both owner and rector of the self-employed university. However, he will not able to make a profit from this university, although he opened it for this purpose.

Belgin (Hande Katipoğlu) is a former famous celebrity, who now lives with her brother Yağız (Bora Akkaş) and her son Barkın in a big villa in the neighbourhood. Her sole desire is to be famous again, and for this purpose, she can do anything!

Such a Lovely Story

Cemile (Asuman Dabak) is the mother of Tarık and Ayşe. She has a realist personality that she insists on her son to find a job every single day.

Yağız (Bora Akkaş) is the younger brother of Belgin. He has been living in this neighbourhood since he was a little boy. However, he has never been accepted by his around due to the fact that he is rich. Therefore, he found the solution as hiding that he is rich. He admires Tarık for too long, so that’s why he wants to be around of him. However, he fells in love with the same girl with whom Tarık does. Thus, they turn into savage enemies forever!
