The Story of “Aziz”
The eminent Turkish actor Murat Yıldırım’s new series Aziz takes place in Antakya in the 1930s. In the series, Murat Yıldırım will give life to a character named Aziz Payidar. Zeynep Günay Tan, the designer of the project, is taking on a great responsibility for the filming of this period drama.
In the series, the main protagonist Aziz causes the death of a French Lieutenant. Therefore, as a result of this unwanted incident, he will leave his great love Dilruba behind. What’s more, he will also leave his father’s quarry. A brand new life, thus, will begin for Aziz, who will return to the city where he was born after the event is forgotten.
Nevertheless, neither Aziz nor the city he left behind is the same anymore…

Aziz’s fate changes when he kills French delegate Monsieur Pierre (played by Fırat Tanış)’s son, Lieutenant Andre. As a result of this unwanted incident, he is forced to leave behind the land of his birth, his one and only love, in short, everything he has.

Two years later, when everyone thought he is dead, his return becomes unexpected for everyone. Nothing is the same anymore. Not only did Aziz lose everything he owned, but Antakya, which was under French occupation, became worse than he left.
Moreover, his first love Dilruba (played by Damla Sönmez) is engaged to her uncle Galip Payidar‘s (played by Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan) son Adem (played by Guven Murat Akpınar).

Aziz, who had to start all over again, was reborn from the ashes with his struggle for life. Namely, he will be in a dilemma emotionally when Efnan (played by Simay Barlas), a simple peasant girl, unexpectedly enters his life.
