EA Sports just announced the popular basketball video game NBA Live 2016. This announcement really surprised Turkish gamers and psychedelic rock lovers with its trailer.

NBA Live 2016 official trailer:

The song in the original trailer is ‘Out the trunk’  by Fashawn – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WM6GaIVabu4. The song built over  a psychedelic tune of Cem Karaca‘s famous song “Obur Dünya – Voracious World”

Original music from Cem Karaca’s song “Obur Dünya”:

The song is a cry to the death of people such as Yunus Emre, Pir Sultan Abdal, Rumi and Atatürk . The cry pictures world is voracious and ate great people by their death them but it doesn’t gets enough.

About Turkish Psychedelic Music

In Turkey, Anatolian rock artist Erkin Koray blended classic Turkish music and Middle Eastern themes into his psychedelic-driven rock, helping to found the Turkish rock scene with artists such as Cem Karaca, Mogollar, Selda Bağcan, Edip Akbayram, 3 Hürel and Baris Manco etc. Turkish psychedelic rock, also known as Anatolian rock, gained popularity during the late 1960s and early ’70s, mixing traditional Turkish folk with the sound of the Western rock groups of the time.

This was not the first re-discovery of Turkish Psychedelic Music from 70’s. In 2009, Mos Def mixed his song Supermagic with Selda Bağcan’s song “İnce ince bir kar yağar”:

Selda Bağcan’s voice and Psychedelic tune of her songs influenced many DJ’s like Elijah Wood. He visited Turkey in May 2016 and had a graph of Selda Bağcan whom he told that he is a real fan and adore.
