The world-famous American pop singer, dancer, and songwriter Halsey came to the fore with her post on social media in the Turkish language. The 26-year-old singer shared a message on the Twitter account saying that ‘Herkes sakin olsun lütfen!’. That means ‘Everybody calms down please!’ in English. After this post on social media, Halsey settled in the first row of Twitter Turkey’s agenda. So, now everyone curios about Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane. Who is Halsey? Is she really a Turkish descent?

Who is American Pop Singer Halsey?

Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, was born and raised in New Jersey as Ashley Frangipane. She is of Italian, Hungarian, Irish, and paternal African-American descent.

Halsey Came Out 11 Percent Turkish Descent 

A while ago, the American celebrity Halsey shared a post saying that “I grew up thinking that I am Hungarian. Then I had a DNA test and I saw that I am not very Hungarian, actually I am Turkish. It is only 11 percent but it is enough for me to like baklava” on the social media page.

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane is an American singer, dancer, and songwriter. She uses both her name in the state where she was born and raised. Halsey, on the other hand, is the anagram of her name, as her stage name. She started writing songs at the age of 17. In 2014, she signed a deal with the music company Astralwerks. Then, she released her first EP (extended play), Room 93.

Start of Halsey’s Career

Halsey began her career by posting cover songs on YouTube under her real name. In 2012, she recorded a parody of the song “Haylor Song” I Knew You Were Trouble about Swift’s relationship with Taylor Swift and One Direction member Harry Styles. Afterward, she shared the song on her Tumblr account. In 2014, Halsey recorded a song called “Ghost” and released it on SoundCloud. The song drew attention to Halsey and she signed a label with Astralwerks record label. She later released her first EP titled “Room 93” on October 27, 2014.

Also in 2014, she went on tour with The Kooks as the opening artist. In 2015, Halsey became the most talked-about artist at the festival on Twitter. She went on tour with Young Rising Sons in March and April 2015. The tour was also supported by Imagine Dragons during the Smoke + Mirrors Tour.
