    Hot-Air Balloon Are Back in Service for Fans

    Hot air balloon flights re-began in central Turkey’s Cappadocia on Aug. 23. Flights recommenced after a five-month of pause as part of COVID-19 precautions. So, the Civil Aviation Directorate General mandated a brief training session, masks, and safe distancing for visitors on the hot air balloons. Known for its unique geographic landscape of valleys, caves, and “fairy chimneys,” hot air balloons at sunrise Cappadocia are a popular tourist attraction.

    What Does “The Package” Offer?

    The hot-air balloon package deals for hot air balloon rides. Furthermore, it also includes an hour-long ride and concessions at the point of landing. According to hot-air balloon tourism operator Special’s Director Abdullah İnal, approximately 35 balloons were in the air on the morning of Aug. 23. Local tourism operators are hoping for increased business from the hot-air balloon rides. It is because the use of a hot-air balloon is an important and quite valuable source for local people.

    Is A Hot-Air Balloon Journey Safe?

    Make sure you choose the correct moment to visit Cappadocia in order to avoid the crowds. The best times to visit Cappadocia are spring and autumn. The temperatures, on the other hand, are generally moderate and there are fewer crowds. From July to September, the weather can be very hot and the tours can get expensive. As for the best time of the day for the hot air balloon is either sunrise or sunset. You will never forget how fascinating the views are from up there!

    How to Get to Cappadocia?

    Due to Cappadocia’s location, trying to get there can be tiresome via bus or expensive by plane. What’s more, the low population density of the area leads to limited public transportation. Therefore, this doesn’t exactly help either. But nothing is impossible! The region of Cappadocia is worthy to explore, so one may want to consider hiring a car or booking a tour. However, if you’re wondering how to get to Cappadocia by bus, note that most of the bus companies have connections to Nevsehir and Göreme. Traveling from Istanbul or Izmir would take the longest (12 hours) or if you’re in Ankara it would take 5 hours.

    The fastest and most expensive way of traveling to Cappadocia is by plane. There are two main airports to which you can fly to Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR), one hour drive to the center of the Cappadocia region (it’s easy to arrange a shuttle bus from Kayseri Airport to Cappadocia). The other airport is Nevsehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV), which is located in Gülsehir town of Nevsehir Province. Turkish Airlines operates a direct flight from Istanbul to Nevsehir twice a day.
