The Story of The Ambassador’s Daughter
As for the name of the series, the word “sefir” is an Arabic word which means “Ambassador”. So the ambassador means “Elçi” in Turkish. Sefir, in addition to Arabic origin, also used to be a common word which was used in the term of the Ottoman Empire to define the duties of a public servant. So, there is an analogy among the name of the series and the story of it.

So, The Ambassador’s Daughter tells the story of Sancar (played by Engin Akyürek) and Nare (played by Neslihan Atagül Doğulu). Nare is the daughter of an ambassador, and Sancar, on the other hand, is a casual man. One day, they fell in love with each other, but unfortunately, this love is the desperate one!
The Turkish TV drama has a successful character building. And moreover, the selection of the cast seems successful, too. The reason why we think so is because of the leading roles. The leading roles Engin Akyürek and Neslihan Atagül Doğulu are very bright faces of Turkish televisions in recent years. Furthermore, it seems that they suit very well together in the series.

So, Engin Akyürek (acted as Sancar) is playing a very brave and fearless man who loves riding a horse a lot. He is such a brave man that he only kneels when he plays zeibek (a heroic dance of western Anatolia of which the player has to kneel).

Gonca Cilasum (acted as Menekşe) is going to be acting as the mother of Nare and the wife of Sefir. She is not as strict as her husband, but her positive attitude for this relationship will not enough for our couple.

The dramatic & epic love story between Nare and Sancar hits a hard rock and capsized in the second season. Especially after the departing of the starring role Nare (Neslihan Atagül) and at the same time the change of the writers at the 34th episode, the story virtually changed from head to foot. A new and fast infatuation has had a shocking effect on the viewers. Additionally, the new writers maintain a slower pace and the dramatically reduced action leading the series being “boring”.
So briefly, it’s an unfinished rare epic love story that unfortunately ends with a lot of headaches and heartaches as a completely new story begins. The series is continuing with new writers facing insurmountable challenges with the departure of not only Nare, but also Gediz and Boz. The episodes after 35th have nothing to do with the previous ones and are unrelated with the original story. How to describe what has happened to Sefirin Kizi? Even the characters are almost totally changed and ruined. So it’s just a headache now.
