After Meryem Uzerli’s sudden decision to quit Magnificent Century and return to Germany, there was a big question mark about the Hürrem Sultan role and the fate of the popular tv series of Magnificent Century.
Both Meryem Uzerli fans and series fans were cautious about this decision and they were asking what will happen then? Lots of discussions were made about this, but in the end, the producers choose to find a new actress for the leading role of Hürrem Sultan.
Vahide Gördüm take over the role as Hürrem Sultan
This was not only an actress change, they also changed the scenario of the series. And announced that Vahide Gördüm(Perçin) will take over this role.
This decision was tough and brave because Vahide Gördüm is older than Meryem Uzerli and a time shift should be needed to match the aging of Hürrem.
Vahide Perçin, is a successful actress and played in lots of tv series and movies. You may know her from his role as the mother of Feriha in the series “Adını Feriha Koydum”. Besides her talent, most of Meryem Uzerli fans criticized this decision and they want Meryem Uzerli back in the role.
We don’t want to give spoilers, because Vahide Perçin was revealed in the season final, and lots of surprises may come in next season.
Vahide Perçin is a talented and experienced actress, and she had rough times, last year she had bad news, she got breast cancer and after a hard fight with this illness, she comes back to screens.
Lots of comments about this decision, most people said that they should convince Meryem Uzerli and raise her salary- as it is said that it was not only her burnout syndrome but also a monetary issue because Meryem Uzerli was paid really lower than Halit Ergenç(Süleyman).
Magnificent Century made its season final last week and will continue in next season with the new Hürrem Sultan – Vahide Perçin.

Vahide Perçin is really an excellent actress and the role of Hurrem Sultan fits her, I love her so much. I love Meryem Userli but ma preference goes to Vahide Perçin.
Hmmmm what i can say, Meryem Uzerli was great but why she decided to quite the drama , still good that the producers hired a new lady for this role but she is not cute as meryem uzerli. Still its ok

Very bad decision to change Hurren , the actress are very different in their personality, Hurren was enchanted with Uzerli, the new one lacks the ability to capture the audience as she did.

Ahhh, well, so sad … how can you replace Meryem Uzerli? I watched, with horror, the last episode of S3, and there is this old saying, right, "the closer she gets, the better she looks" … So anyway, poor old Sulyman, missing his totally hot babe of a wife, gets the good news, Hurrem is back. So the last scene, he slowly turns the corner, there is this sheer veil separating where he is as he approaches her, and she approaches him, and they get closer, and closer, and his facial expression as he finally sees her up close (the back of her head to the camera at this point) is a mixture of relief, and surprise …
but then, you see the face! the body! "OMG!" Sulyman was thinking, "Hurrem, baby, WTF? What happened to you?!?! … hey, Subul Aga, let's crank up that harem and start this thing all over again"

Vahide percen was the best choice for this series. I mean for season four
The new Hurrem was is is an excellent actress fits very well especially in the hugely roller coaster of emotions. The death and dying scene could not have been played better by anyone else. Take it from me seen lots of people die she was excellent.
I look forward to seeing the new Hurrem Sultan, when will the next series begin on NetFlix? I am glad for the replacement, previous actress was getting on my nerves, but wish her good health.
I understand why Vahide Percin replaced Meryem Uzerli as Hurrem. I don’t think she has the same ‘OOMPH ” and enthusiasm as Meryem Uzerli had and there is no chemistry between
Vahide Percin and Halit Ergenc which detracts from that love affair. I stopped watching at Episode 106, sadly. I enjoyed it to that point!
