Femen Protest in Hagia Sophia- İstanbul

The Ukrainian sensational activist group FEMEN was in İstanbul for 8 March Women’s day. This time the theme of their protest was “The violence against women”. The protesters pointed acid attacks to women, and they have demonstrated the pain of the victims. Their way of protest was not different, hey were naked and topless.

FEMEN was invited by a Turkish underwear firm. Everything was cool, until the group started to their protest about violence against women.

The protesters were arrested by the police. And the following day they have been deported by the police. Also legal action will be taken. The interesting part is, FEMEN demonstrated a lot of protest in various countries but they have never faced with a legal action or punishment.

“Skyfall” the new movie of 007 James Bond shooting in Turkey

Skyfall - Film Shootings has started in Adana

The famous film series of James Bond based on the Ian Flemings novell’s continues with the upcoming movie “Skyfall” .

The 23th installment of the series will have scenes from Turkey. The first 15 minutes will show a solid action scenes on the old Railway of Yüreğir-Misis, the famous Varda Bridge and Kasım Gülek Bridge. Also the movie will include scenes from Hagia Sophia and Sultan Ahmet Square in İstanbul.

Last week the cast crew has arrived Adana and started the trial film shootings, the residents watched the shootings with a high interest, they hope to see James Bond and some action scenes.

The production team of the movie sad that they are very impressed about the story of the Varda Bridge and they will show close up scenes of the Bridge and promote the great and historical bridge.

The movie will be on theatres on 9 November 2012.

The famous actress Beren Saat and Turkish pop music singer Kenan Doğulu are in a relationship.

On 26th of February Turkish media has surprised with a photo of Beren Saat and Kenan Doğulu. The photo was taken by Turkish people who lives in Prague. The new couple went to Prague for the birthday of Beren Saat, and Turkish fans captured the couples photos, after sharing the photos on twitter everthing come up to the surface.

This was a surprising news, there were rumours but both Kenan Doğulu and Beren Saat denied the rumours of the love between them. However, this photo made everything clear. The couple have just started a relationship.

After this photo, the couple declared the truth, and they said “Everything is just perfect we are trying to be away from the cameras because we want it keep it as it is so good. We will try to keep our relationship away from the cameras because we do not want evil eyes to damage it.

Also Kenan Doğulu’s mother said that Beren Saat is a wonderfull person and she is very happy about this relationship. Kenan Doğulu’s sister commented to the press that, this relationship will make everbody happy.

Can Bonomo Will Represent Turkey By his song Love Me Back

This year Turkey will be represented by a talented young man: Can Bonomo in the Eurovision 2012 song contest hosted in Bakü-Azerbaijan. It will be a very tough contest this year, England will be represented by her worldwide award-winner star Adele, Germany will be representred by Rammstein, such a contest will be a leage of hell.

Making a brave decision, Turkish authorities selected Can Bonomo, who has its own style and earned his popularity with alternative social media channels.

His song is named “Love Me Back ” its melodies are authentic western Anatolian sounds with the mixture of Anatoilan tunes. The song found successful by the authorities also people liked it because it was cheerfull, enjoying music and makes people moving and dancing.

Tuba Büyüküstün has given birh to her twins Toprak and Maya

Tuba Büyüküstün, the famous actress of Turkey, has given birth to her twins on 19th of the January.

The rumours about her pregnancy led a very suprising marriage with Onur Saylak. After her pregnancy news she was married in strict privacy with her babies father Onur Saylak an actor that they act in the same series “Gönülçelen”.

Tuba Büyüküstün and Onur Saylak gave the names to their daugthers ”Toprak(Means Soil)” and “Maya(Means Essence, primary)”.

The couple worked hard to protect journailst to take photos of the newborn twins, and they succeeded. Still there is no photos of the babies, and the press still waiting to get them. An old belief, the couple avoding to take pictures of the babies until 40th day of their birth, to prevent Nazar(evil eyes).

Safranbolu a town of Karabük is in Northwest of Blacksea Region and its population is nearly 50.000 people. Safranbolu’s history is approximately 3000 years old and hosts many different kinds of civilization in this time period. Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ‘s new tv series “Kuzey Güney” hits the tv ratings. After the series Aşk-ı Memnu, his career reached to its peak, and his popularity, especially on his woman fans, increased.

“Kuzey Güney” is a new tv series project, it is based on the story of two brothers who have opposite characters and actually are in love with the same girl.

Kıvan. Tatlıtuğ is starring as Kuzey(means North) and Buğra Gülsoy acts as Güney(means South), and Bade İşçil and Ökü Karayel are also starring.

Also their story is a bit more complicated, an accident changes their life, although they live in the same house their way of life separates.

Kuzey is the rough one, he has a rebel personality, and he has no fear for anything, he is secretly feeling a great love to his dream girl, but he is unable to keep up with anything, as a job. His brother Güney, has an opposite character, he is well educated, has a responsibility as job and other obligations, however he is an unfaithful lover.

The series played for eight episodes to now, and the critics are good. Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ’s performance is outstanding. Also the whole casts performance is good.

The series keep the excitement, drama and love together and it seems that it will be a lasting series, and its tv ratings will be satisfactory for a long time.

New Tv Series: Turkish Desperate Housewives

Umutsuz Ev Kadınları -Turkish version of The Desperate Housewives

The new tv series “Umutsuz Ev Kadınları” started to show on screens. The series based on the world-wide famous and award-winning tv series Desperate Housewives.

Umutsuz Ev Kadınları launched as a Turkish verision of The Desperate Housewives. The story is quite similat, however the social and cultural differeces makes the series a bit different from the originals.

The cast are selected from the successful woman actress. Susan is played by Songül Öden- charecter’s name Yasemin, Bree is played by Bennu Yıldırımlar- as Nermin, Gabrielle is played by Evrim Solmaz- as Zeliş, Lynette is by Ceyda Düvenci- as Elif and Edie is played by Özge Özder-as Emel.

The fifth episode will be on screens this Sunday. At first impression, people liked the new series and it has archived satisfactory ratings for the past four week. It seems like the series will be successful as a good implementation of an Hollywood series in Turkey. on recent years lots of Hollywood series tried to be implement on Turkish tv screens, but none of them were successful to hit the screens.
