Elçin Sangu: The successor of Meryem Uzerli?

Meet with the new star of Turkish television: Elçin Sangu!

Usually the summer tv series does not offer much, but this year something happened, and Turkish television has received a new gift from the series Kiralık Aşk (Love for Rent). Elçin Sangu, the redheaded actress is loved very much and she has been already started to be compared with Meryem Uzerli.

Elçin Sangu is 30 years old and she was born in İstanbul. She studied in Mersin University Opera Department then she went to Yeditepe University Department of Fine Arts. After completion of her education she had started to get small parts in various theatre plays, then her career on television has been started.

Her first appearance on television is “Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki – The time goes by” she played the evil character Jale, then she series “Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer”, “Bir Aşk Hikayesi – A Love Story”, “Kurt Seyd and Shura” and Sevdam Alabora – My Love Overturned”. But her first starring was in the series of Kiralık Aşk (Love for Rent) playing the character Defne.

Elçin Sangu and Barış Arduç formed a great couple in the series and people loved it. Especially Elçin Sangu’s pure beauty and lovely behaviours plus sweet awkwardness bring her the success.

The other thing is her hair, Elçin Sangu is a natural readhead which is nor very common in Turkey, Meryem Uzerli was a redhead too and she had been very popular. It seems that Turkish audience loves redheads.

Elçin Sangu’s hair has been wondered very much whether it is natural or hair dye, yes her hair is orginal, she showed her childhood pictures showing her hair color.
